Words from Pastor Amy

Dear Friends I am planning to create a daily (well almost daily) devotion to remind us that God is with us and to offer an opportunity to connect with one another through a daily question.

So here is our first coronavirus devotion!  And our first question!

The prophet Isaiah wrote this: (Isaiah 41:10)

10 do not fear, for I am with you,
    do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
    I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.

            We are constantly bombarded by coronavirus updates.  Each day some kind of new restriction is added.  The numbers of infected and the sad reality of those who have died is on our minds constantly. We are anxious and sad, depressed and angry.  And stuck.  Stuck in our homes, isolated from our loved ones.  I haven’t seen my grandchildren in a week.  I am beginning to wither from that loss.

            But friends we will get through this.  We have faith and hope.  We have an awesome God who takes away our fears and comforts us. God will strengthen us, encourage us, never leave us, and hold us in God’s hand. Put your faith in God.

            Reach out to those who may be sad and alone.  Be generous.  Serve where you may safely serve. And know that God is the GREAT I am. God is God and God will never fail us.  Be strong. Pray. You are a beloved child of God.  Peace and Grace, Amy
